How to change the IGNOU subject?

There are chances that you might have registered for the wrong subject in the Indira Gandhi National Open University in haste or online procedure confusion. There is no need to worry because the flexibility of IGNOU allows you to change your subject within the tenure of 30 days. Below mentioned are the subjects to change your IGNOU subject.

1) The change of your selected subject or elective course can only be made within 30 days of opting for the wrong subject. After 30 days your chance of changing your subject will dissolve.

2) A payment of 300 INR will be required for a two-fourth credit course or part thereof; for changing any undergraduate course, you will be required to pay 600 INR for a sixth-eighth credit course.

3) For changing the subject of a master’s degree program, you will have to pay 500 INR for two-fourth credits and 1000INR for six-eighth credit courses.

4) The method of payment should ONLY be through a demand draft drafted in after the name o ‘IGNOU’. This demand draft should be payable at the place of the concerned regional center.

5) It should be noted that any such request favoring the change of the subject or elective course should be addressed as per your schedule to the concerned regional center.

How to change IGNOU medium?

If there is any possibility that you might have registered for the wrong medium, there is no need to panic. IGNOU allows you to modify your selected medium in the first year of your degree. Below mentioned are some points and criteria that you need to keep in mind while changing the medium from Indira Gandhi National Open University.

1) You can change your medium only within the period of 30 days from the receipt of the first set.

2) You have to keep in mind that the change of medium is permitted only in the first year of your degree and not in the later years.

3) You have to make a payment of 300 INR and an extra 300 INR per two- fourth per credit course and for the six-eighth credit course, you have to pay 600 INR for all the undergraduate courses.

4) You have to make a payment of 300 INR with an additional amount of 500 INR per two-fourth credit course and 1000 INR per six-eight credit course for a master’s degree course or program.

5) The method of payment should ONLY be through a demand draft drafted in after the name o ‘IGNOU’. This demand draft should be payable at the place of the concerned regional center.

How to change the IGNOU course?

1) The courses that will allow you to change your subject in the first 30 days of registration are a change of programs from B.Com/ BTS/ BSW to B.Sc and vice versa or BTS/ BSW/ B.Sc to B.Com and vice versa or BA/ BTS/ BSW/ B.Com to B.sc and vice versa is permitted till 30 days of receipt registration but ONLY In the first year of your degree.

2) You have to make a payment of 500 INR and additional 300 INR per two-fourth per credit course and for a six-eighth credit course, you have to pay 600 INR for all the undergraduate courses.

3) The method of payment should ONLY be through a demand draft drafted in after the name o ‘IGNOU’. This demand draft should be payable at the place of the concerned regional center.

4) The student is required to pay the fee difference while switching from BA/ B.com program to BTS/ BSW program along with an additional amount of 500INR.

5) The students from BA/ B. Com/ BSW/ BTS will have to remember that they cannot switch from their above mentioned respective courses.

6) Moreover, the change of course is not permitted in the Master’s degree viz, MSO/ MEC/ MEG/ MPS/ MHD/MAPC, etc.

7) After changing the subject, the student has to pay full fees for the newly selected course and has to let go of the fees paid for the previous course.

8) The request should be made to the regional director of the concerned regional center for the change in your course.

9) The students should mark a point to return the old course material to the authorities concerned.
