IGNOU international division was founded on 16th October 1997 as a Cell. It was upgraded to the status of a full-fledged Division in 2002. The vision and mission to open international division were to cater to the needs of overseas students as well as foreign students residing in India (FRSI’s) for study purposes. If students want to study IGNOU Doha, we are providing information regarding IGNOU Doha centre.
The IGNOU international division offers selected courses to FRSI’s (through Regional Centres in India) and to Overseas Students (through Overseas Study Centres of the University). The international division has expanded its academic courses and different regional centers in various parts of South Asia, the Middle East, and African nations.
IGNOU’s academic programmes are on offer in Gulf countries like UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Doha, Qatar and Saudi Arabia,Muskat, in Indian Ocean rim countries like Mauritius, Maldives and Seychelles and SAARC members Nepal and Sri Lanka and South East Asian countries like Indonesia, Singapore and Myanmar.
In Africa, IGNOU’s academic programmes are being offered in Kenya, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Liberia, Madagascar and two centres in Ghana under collaboration with IICBA-UNESCO.
